Barbara Stevens Barnum, RN, PhD, is the author of numerous books involving metaphysical and mystical themes. She has also written many books on nursing education and management, as well as spiritual healing.
Dr. Barnum spent much of her career at Columbia University, New York City, Professor and Director of the Division of Health Services, Sciences and Education at Teachers College. Later she held a professorial position at the Columbia Medical Campus. Her books include: Nursing Theory: Analysis, Application, Evaluation; Spirituality in Nursing; The Nurse as Executive: The New Healers: Minds and Hands in Complementary Medicine. She also served as editor of two professional journals: Nursing Leadership Forum and Nursing & Health Care. Dr. Barnum holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.
Her present work involves private psychotherapy with a focus on past life regression and future life progression. She also lectures (primarily to graduate students of nursing and psychoanalysts in training) on brain physiology as it relates to psychotherapy, mysticism, and dream analysis. And of course, she is still writing about the paranormal.
